Westside began in the mid‑nineties as a small circle of close friends and family from London, united by a shared obsession with Volkswagens. Mk1s, Mk2s, Corrados — the cars that defined an era and sparked a culture. What started as weekend tinkering and late‑night conversations quickly grew into something bigger, something with momentum.

Drawn to the modified car meets of the time, we found ourselves at Chelsea Cruise, the Club GTI gatherings in Park Royal, and the iconic GTI International events in Crowthorne. With every meet, the group expanded. Friends brought friends, family brought family, and before long, Westside had become a recognisable presence and crew with a look with a standard that people noticed.

The media noticed too. The tuning world wanted to know who this West London collective was and why everyone was talking about them. That early attention led to a long‑standing relationship with Performance VW Magazine, a partnership that reflected our influence and helped cement our place within the scene.

As the 2000s arrived, our horizons widened. We travelled across Europe to the shows that shaped the culture: VW Mania in Belgium, Wörthersee in Austria, and the growing UK scene with Edition 38, Ultimate Dubs and more. Project cars came and went — each one pushing boundaries, each one adding to the legacy. Our fleet evolved beyond Volkswagen, embracing Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and other German marques. Through it all, the Westside identity sharpened: all marques welcome, but always with that unmistakable Westside stance, style and presence.

In 2008, we took the next step and launched our own event, the Westside Show & Shine

Built on everything we’d learned from the European scene, we created something with its own flavour, its own energy, and its own community. A show that wasn’t just about cars, but about culture, connection and the people who make this scene what it is. Year after year, the Westside Show has grown, becoming a recognised and respected part of the UK automotive calendar.

But no matter how far we’ve travelled, how many cars we’ve built, or how much the scene has evolved, one thing has never changed:

Westside has always been about people, friends, family, loyalty, and a shared passion that has carried us from the streets of London to the forefront of European car culture.

This is our story, this is our legacy, this is Westside.
